Nati dall’impulso del pianista Paolo Fornara che facendo tesoro dell’esperienza maturata all’estero ha trovato perfetta sintonia nella collaborazione con Alessandra Perozzo, vocals/washboard/kazoo e Paolo Busatto alle chitarre.

Traditional jazz, pre-war blues, hokum songs, barrelhouse, Western Swing, stride, boogie woogie – all musical styles which strongly characterize the Jim Dandies’ sound, a dirty and rough sound, the sound of barrelhouses, brothels and juke joints during the 20s and 30s.
The Jim Dandies aim to take the audience by the hand and back in time, trying to give back that low-fi dimension to jazz and blues by bringing the listener’s ears back to their origins.

The project sparks from the impulse of pianist Paolo Fornara, Italian-born but artistically imbued with American vision. In 2009 he founded one of the very first bands of traditional jazz and pre-war blues in Italy, the Vaudeville Stomp Revue, and in 2018 he formed the Jim Dandies, finding perfect harmony collaborating with Alessandra Perozzo on vocals, washboard and kazoo and Paolo Busatto on guitars, a collaboration born out of the trio’s common love for American original music.
